Some unknown questions at this point:

  • What happens to accrued Cash Back that cannot yet be cashed out, because there is not yet enough earned to meet the cash out threshold?

  • Will the account age be preserved with the transfer to another institution?

  • What extra benefits will be offered with the card?

  • Will there be other cash out options besides Fidelity? (FIA allows cashing out elsewhere or gift cards, but at a rate less than 2% unless it is a large amount).

Schwab plans to release its own new 2% card in 2016.

Seems a variety of sign up offers out there with varying bonus/required spend combinations

Every net $1 spent equals 2 rewards points

No limits on reward points and no restrictive categories

    Points will not expire

    1% Foreign Transaction Fee

---> will be a BIG change compared to current FIA cards which do have points expiration dates.

bholdenpirate (posted: Jun. 7, 2016 @ 6:54p) noticed new Terms and Conditions reflect a 5 year time limit for points expiration.

My worry is what happens to those of us that have both Fidelity AMEX and Fidelity Visa ranging from 1.5 to 2.0% rebates?

I currently have 0% BTs recently activated on each of them with very reasonable APRs after the 0% BT period as part of the terms when set up.

Meanwhile keep an eye on this page:

Did they mention when.. And will 2% be uncapped?

Starting sometime Monday January 4, 2016, check out fidelity cash management webpage: https://www.fidelity.com/cash-management/oveoverview jnj

Very bad news for anyone doing 2.6% CashBack with BoA Travel Rewards card.

    Yeah, keep dreaming Www.fidelityrewards.com/login

I have both the current Fidelity AMEX and Visa with favorable BT terms.

I expect without knowledge Elan to be more receptive to CL increases than FIA was. My current FIA cards are among my lower CL cards in each case.

  • The FIA cards will remain active as Fidelity co-banded until at least middle of 2016. Fidelity will send out details to card holders before they discontinue the program with FIA

  • Your current FIA cards will not be automatically converted to ELAN ones, if you want an ELAN one you need to apply via the online application.

It's very likely that once Fidelity discontinues the program with FIA, FIA will convert existing cards to generic 1% like they did with former Schwab cards. I plan to apply for the ELAN card today, this will give me plenty of time to make sure all my points from FIA get used before they stop the program.

Chatted with Fidelity Private Client Group. Rep put me on hold for ten minutes and then said exactly what you were told. The existing Fidelity card would be converted to a 1% card. You must apply for a new Fidelity card.

Should I be able to download transactions from Fidelity Elan Visa credit card on Quicken for Mac 2016, using for example Quicken Connect?

I have the new Fidelity Elan Visa credit card. I'd like to set up downloads for this (e.g. using Quicken Connect), however I'm not able to find this credit card in the options offered when I try to add a new credit card. I see an "Elan Financial Services" but I don't have an account there, and regardless it appears to only be a manual download.

I spoke with a rep at Elan on June 21 who said that automatic account download to Quicken has not yet been enabled because Elan and Fidelity are still working on the conversion from FIA. The card is linked to Fidelity's web site but because of that, enabling Quicken access too cannot be done yet. Maybe in a few months. In meantime, manual download.

Step 1: Do a manual download from Fidelity site. This will modify some info in your Quicken account.

Step 2: Register at Elan's customer site: www.myaccountaccess.com

Step 3: Do an "Update Now" from your Quicken account. It still won't work yet.

Step 4: Click "Use improved connection method" (or similar) when prompted by Quicken

Step 5: Quicken will churn and prompt you two different times to answer the security questions created in Step 2. After that the automated download works.
